Meet The Team

Matthew D. Fischer

Founding Partner

Matt is a big fish in the small pond that is Fischer Law Office. A former college athlete who stands 6’ 6”, he knows how to be a part of a team and brings that camaraderie, dedication, and drive to relationships with his clients.

Matt believes that the greatest value of his services comes in helping his clients grow and protect their businesses. Acting as the chief legal advisor to companies, their executives, and boards of directors, his practice focuses on closely held businesses. To help them achieve their goals, he provides advice and counsel related to business decision making and the legal ramifications inherent in corporate strategic planning. On a more granular level, he advises, negotiates, and prepares corporate contracts and business and real estate transactions. Other key roles to assist his clients include forming businesses entities, managing corporate governance and compliance, and helping business owners secure the protections of the corporate form and relations among owners and executives.

Matt lives in Long Beach with his wife, Andrea, a high school teacher, and their two young daughters. He’s active in his community, coaching his daughters’ athletic teams and serving on the board of the Long Beach Grand Prix Foundation and the St. Mary Medical Center Board of Ambassadors. Matt is a past President of the Long Beach Bar Association—one of the youngest in its 100-plus-year history—and continues to serve as the chair of its annual golf tournament, which supports its scholarship program.

Matt is a graduate of Santa Clara University and Loyola Law School. He is admitted to practice in the State Courts of California and the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California.
